Kayaking and via ferrata at the Terradets reservoir
The Terradets reservoir, tucked into the gorge of the same name, is about 10 km from Cal Nenot — 15 minutes by car. It's our favourite plan for a morning on the water: calm water, rock walls on both sides, and several ways to enjoy it, from kayaking to climbing.

Tren dels Llacs: the panoramic train through the reservoirs
The Tren dels Llacs runs along the Lleida–La Pobla de Segur line, skirting four reservoirs and the Terradets gorge, with stops and commentary along the way. It departs from La Pobla de Segur, about 15 km (20 minutes) from Cal Nenot, and makes for a relaxed plan for the whole family.

Parc Astronòmic del Montsec: stargazing near Cal Nenot
The Montsec is a Starlight Tourist Destination, one of the areas with the least light pollution in Europe, and the Parc Astronòmic runs night observation sessions open to the public. The Centre d'Observació de l'Univers (COU), in Àger, is about 40 km (45-50 minutes) from Cal Nenot.

Vall Fosca and the Estany Gento cable car
The Vall Fosca is the southern gateway to the Aigüestortes National Park, with a cable car that climbs from the Sallente reservoir to l'Estany Gento in just a few minutes. It's about 55 km from Cal Nenot — around an hour by car — and makes for a highly recommended full-day trip.

Congost de Mont-rebei gorge: complete guide from Cal Nenot
The Congost de Mont-rebei is the most spectacular gorge in the Lleida Pre-Pyrenees, with walkways suspended over the Noguera Ribagorçana river. It's about 32 km (around 40 minutes by car) from our country house Cal Nenot, in Puigcercós — the day trip our guests ask about the most.

What to see and do in Tremp, 4 km from Cal Nenot
Tremp is the capital of the Pallars Jussà and the closest town to Cal Nenot: just 4 km, about a 6-minute drive. It's where we go shopping, for dinner, and to sort out anything unexpected — and it also has a charming old town worth an afternoon stroll.

Castell de Mur: one of the best-preserved castles in Catalonia
The Castell de Mur crowns a rocky spur above the Conca de Tremp, next to the Romanesque collegiate church of Santa Maria de Mur. It's about 12 km from Cal Nenot, around 15 minutes by car, and the views from the top are among the best in the whole area.

What to see in La Pobla de Segur, the gateway to the Pyrenees
La Pobla de Segur is the largest town in the area after Tremp, and its Modernist old town surprises anyone who doesn't expect it. It's 15 km from Cal Nenot, about 15-20 minutes by car, and it's also where the Tren dels Llacs departs from.
