Cal Nenot
Cal Nenot is a 19th-century stone house in Puigcercós, a tiny village in the Pallars Jussà, just 200 m from the main road. The village sits in a valley ringed by the Montsec range, one of Europe's darkest skies and a certified Starlight Reserve, so clear nights here are something else entirely. The Terradets reservoir and the Mont-rebei gorge are just a short hop away, and Tremp, with supermarkets, a pharmacy and restaurants, is a little over 20 minutes by car.
Built in 1893 and renovated in 2017, keeping its original character (exposed stone walls, wood-beamed ceilings), the house spans two spacious floors built for 8 guests to spread out comfortably: four double bedrooms (two with double beds, two with twin beds, ideal for families with children or groups of friends), two full bathrooms, a bright living-dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to cook like you're at home.
Outside, a private garden with a pool for guests' exclusive use opens onto views of the Montsec range, with a sun terrace for lazy afternoons and a barbecue on the south-facing side for summer dinners. Evenings run long with board games in the living room, or simply stargazing from a lounger by the pool.
By day, the area rewards a full itinerary: hiking and mountain biking across the Pallars Jussà, kayaking and swimming at the Terradets reservoir, climbing and via ferratas, or a trip to Sant Esteve de la Sarga and the Montsec lookout. And when you're back, Cal Nenot is still there: quiet, welcoming, pool waiting.
