The Centre d'Observació de l'Univers in Àger runs guided stargazing sessions with telescopes, plus a planetarium and outreach activities also designed for children. It's the most complete way to make the most of the Montsec sky, with explanations from specialist guides.
Stargazing on your own from Puigcercós
You don't need to travel to the COU to enjoy a good sky: the Puigcercós area and the rest of the Pallars Jussà share the same low light pollution as the Montsec. On a clear, moonless night, Cal Nenot's own garden is already a good stargazing spot.
The astronomy festival and the Perseids
The Montsec hosts an astronomy festival every year with special activities, and August — with the Perseid meteor shower — is one of the best times of year for stargazing in the area.
