An 11th-century frontier castle
The Castell de Mur was once part of the line of frontier castles between the Christian counties and Andalusi territory, and today it's one of the best-preserved in Catalonia: the wall, keep and chapel are still standing, with a natural viewpoint over the entire Sant Antoni reservoir and the Conca de Tremp.

Right next door, the Romanesque collegiate church of Santa Maria de Mur completes the visit — its apse and cloister are a fine example of Lleida Romanesque, in a monumental complex you can see in a little over an hour.
How to get there
You reach it by local road from Guàrdia de Tremp, with the last stretch on foot up to the castle itself. The path isn't suitable for pushchairs, but it is for children who already walk confidently.
